The first of what look to be a series of informational workshops and support for returning citizens and those who love them was held last Saturday. This event is designed to replace the Community Information Resource Fair which has normally been held in September at Vineyard Boise.
Ten Mile Christian in Meridian is the new host. It is a single day event now held on a weekend day (Saturday). There is a second one scheduled for December of 2022 at the same location.
Congratulations are in order for Travis Richey and his partner Sean Michael Crane for spearheading the efforts. This was a fantastic beginning for this concept. Despite a rainy day, the event had a very good turnout.
Idaho Department of Corrections was a very visible supportive partner with speakers from Bree Derrick and Jeff Kirkman. In addition, the video support was done by audio visual men and women from South Idaho Correctional Institution which by itself is a huge step to inspire new partnerships between IDOC and the community.
Please note also that Ten Mile Christian was the perfect host showcasing their new additional multipurpose building for the event.
Looking forward to how this can grow in service to the Treasure Valley!
